How to Show Hidden Files in cPanel’s File Manager

This tutorial walks you through the steps you can take to list hidden files on your hosting account using the File Manager tool in cPanel.

Hidden files on Linux refer to files whose names begin with a dot (period) character, such as .htaccess files.

1. Sign in to the Client Lounge.

2. In the list of hosting accounts, select the cPanel button for your hosting account.

3. In the Files category, select File Manager.

4. In the top right, select Settings.

5. Select Show Hidden Files (dotfiles).

6. Select the Save button.

You’re all set! The File Manager in cPanel is now able to list hidden files on your hosting account.
