How to Add a Contacts Account on an iPhone or iPad

To add a Contacts account on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Your Contacts account shares the same login credentials as your email account. Ensure that you have already created the desired email account in your hosting account’s cPanel.

  2. Tap the Settings icon on your device.

  3. Tap Apps.

  4. Tap Contacts.

  5. Tap Contacts Accounts.

  6. Tap Add Account.

  7. Tap Other.

  8. Tap Add CardDAV Account.

  9. Enter the following details:

    • Server: mail.example.com:2080
      (replace example.com with your actual domain)

      Remember to add the :2080 to the end as shown above!

    • Username: hello@example.com
      (replace hello@example.com with the actual email address)

    • Password: (Password for the email account)

    • Description: [contacts] hello@example.com
      (replace hello@example.com with the actual email address)

  10. Tap Next in the top right.

  11. You may be asked whether you wish to keep the existing contacts that are already on your device. Select Keep unless you truly wish to permanently delete all existing contacts from your device.

  12. Tap Contacts in the top left to go back to the previous section.

  13. Scroll to the very bottom and tap Default Account.

  14. Select the account into which you would like new contacts to be automatically placed from this point on.

  15. Tap Contacts in the top left to go back to the previous section.

The Contacts account is now ready for use on your iPhone or iPad!
